DJ Mixing Software – Serato Review

More and more new DJs are using Serato or Scratch Live as their choice of DJ mixing software.

What is Scratch Live?

Serato Scratch DJ Controller Review

It’s a DJ mixing software which can be used to emulate CD decks or turntables.

You can scratch, spin, mix and play MP3s and other digital format sound files.

It’s now exclusively available through Rane.

What are the best features?

Why is it so good?

1. Video integration

Mixing images and video in with your tunes is what most DJs will probably be expected to do pretty soon.

As clubbers, we all like it when a VJ is hammering out some trippy images along with the music.

2. Improved dynamic range

What would make me choose Scratch Live would be the excellent dynamic range.

Now at 120 dB, it has improved audio performance and 24 bit converters.

This is essential for sticking your middle finger up to those DJs who slag off digital DJing every time they see you! No question of poor sound quality here! Tell them to f*ck off.

3. Reliable vinyl emulation

Again, for the old skool hardcore vinyl freaks, you can have your cake and eat it here.

100% reliable external controls give you complete close control.

It’s also delivered with the Numark NS7 DJ Turntable Controller with ITCH Software

It gets my vote for turntablists.

In fact, if you are a hip hop DJ or turntablist, then just get it.
